Electrical System Inspections
Electrical System Inspections

Infrared Thermography is a mainstay to predictive maintenance in electrical equipment. Our trained thermographers can scan large electrical rooms rapidly to determine potential electrical failures. Most electrical components heat up before complete failure, therefore overloaded or corroded connections are easily detected using our high resolution thermal imaging equipment. A scheduled inspection can eliminate costly electrical failures and reduce repair costs by having scheduled repairs as opposed to emergency repairs.

Infrared Thermography allows for identification of electrical problems before they fail, saving hundreds if not thousands of dollars in unscheduled repairs and downtime. Since electrical components typically give indications of impending failure (in the form of increased heat) a proper routine inspection can minimize the potential effects of electrical failures.

As electrical faults develop, the electrical resistance of the offending item (switch, fuse ,connections, breakers, etc.) will increase, leading to a corresponding increase in temperature, until it finally fails. Infrared Consultants can detect, document, and provide written reports of electrical components long before they fail.

A regular predictive maintenance program can help provide advance notice of these conditions so repairs can be implemented. We provide:

  • State of the art, high resolution equipment, which allows for early detection of even the smallest problems
  • A summary of findings and prioritizing repairs
  • Side by side visible light and infrared images of problem areas, which assist in quick field identification and implementation of repairs
  • A State Certified Electrical Contractor to remove all high voltage panels and take load readings of troubled areas
