The use of infrared thermography as a standard in the quality
assurance and quality control of exterior cladding evaluations
is becoming more common every year. Masonry is one of the most
commonly used building materials in the building industry.
Infrared imaging allows us to evaluate the condition of the
exterior cladding systems by mapping areas of moisture entrapment
and delamination due to environmental stress. Exterior cladding
surveys are extremely cost effective; we can perform thorough
and accurate surveys on large properties in days, not weeks.
And unlike sounding and other testing methods, surveys are
all non-destructive.
An in-depth evaluation of the building envelope enables the
architect and/or engineer to develop accurate repair specifications
for contractor bidding. The quality of the initial field evaluation
reflects directly on the quality and performance of repairs,
as outlined in the specification documents.
